Worthy is a movement led by those who want to fix a broken healthcare system and reimagine what care should be for everyone.

Worthy was founded on a simple belief: leadership, unity, and purpose can transform health care in the United States into something better.

Our mission is to rebuild a system that treats every person with respect — one that’s accessible to all and sustainably affordable for generations to come.

This isn’t profit. It’s about people—their stories, struggles, and strength. Worthy stands for the belief that every person in this country deserves care that is fair, compassionate, and effective.

Together, we can build a healthcare system that's truly Worthy of Us.

Our founder: Paul Markovich

Paul Markovich is a lifelong advocate for healthcare reform, dedicated to making care more affordable, equitable, and worthy of the people it serves. As President and CEO of Blue Shield of California for 13 years, he led transformative efforts to modernize healthcare—driving digital innovation, pharmacy reform, and expanded access to care. Under his leadership, Blue Shield helped deliver more than $100 million in member savings and advanced initiatives that made care simpler, more connected, and centered on people. *this is only the beginning

Building on that mission, Paul founded Worthy, a national movement to rebuild American health care around dignity, transparency, and fairness. A North Dakota native, he continues to champion collaboration among consumers, providers, and policymakers to create a system that truly puts people before profits—and is, in every sense, worthy of us all.
